A Free Workshop with the Mississippi River Pearl
Join us for a workshop which will explore the origins of our drinking water . Explore Pearl’s 21 discovery drawers and participate in experiments and activities focused on water quality. No trash pick up. Classroom Experience.

Mississippi Watershed Management Organization 2522 Marshall St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418.
The MWMO Stewardship Fund Community grant supported 10 people selected from the larger MWMO neighborhood population, to meet, collect trash along the Mississippi and participate in an immersive curriculum unit which was collaboratively developed by project manager, Barbara Bridges, and the participants themselves.
Workshop includes a take away memory from the drawers and a “Pearl” T-Shirt. Please state size in registration request. Maximum Registration 10. Ages 8 and up.

Curriculum: Fact Sheet with Prizes. Mississippi River water Drinking Game

* Neil to investigate water quality with an experiment. Ideal if participants can participate.
* Barbara helps them create the stainless cuff bracelets with chosen water quality words. Re-Cycle-Re/Purpose or You Are What You Drink.
*Frances: Mini-sculptures (Come over and get found objects from me).
*Alexis and Annie. paper / origami experience
3. Each participant sits on the chair and shares the object they chose from the drawers and share why they chose it. Discussions and Questions. 30 Minutes
4.Kelly: Idea for gift for all: Make some kind of catchy take-away with seeds
